Lord Sri Vendavarasi Amman

The holy places, rivers, mountains located in India, the birth place of righteousness, truth, devotion and wisdom, are being considered as the Powers / Sakthi. The Indian Nation itself is being referred as The Indian Power / Bharathi Sakthi. The rivers such as Ganga, Yamuna, Tungabhadra, Krishna, Narmada, Tapathi, Godavari, Cauvery, Thamirabharani, Vaigai are all the bestowments of the Power / Sakthi. From Himalayas to Kanyakumari the divine plays of Devi extend to various places in various names and various incarnations. Even if there are several types of Sakthi worship, the only worship which subjugates all sorts of morale is the Mari Worship. The Mari Worship is the greatest of all. The omnipotent Maris which rules over have performed several divine plays and ruled over the magnificent universes. The Maha Sakthi which was admired as Sri Vanchi Dhartha Pradhaayini in the vedas, once left Himalayas and reached Sri Sailam (The Mount) and lived with Lord Siva and ruled over there, making it the deemed place to Himalayas. Sri Sailam is a holy place where the flowers such as Jasmine, Wild Jasmine, Mary Gold, Night-blooming jasmine, Wormwood, Jasminum sambac do bloom, the Parrots recite Vedas, Cuckoos sing, Peacocks dance, Deers leap, Maharishis (hermit) do meditate, the human, gods, gandarvas do praise and hail for ever and ever. The majesty of Sri Sailam is unexplainable even by the thousand tongued Adhiseshan. Long ago, Soodhapuranigar asked twenty six thousand Maharishis (Hermits) of Naimisharanya to hail the majesty of Thirumalai Vendavarasi Amman. As she undertook the southern India to be her ruling land, and undertook Sri Sailam as her holy place to share with Lord Shiva, and has the south as her promenade, she will be worshipped by the public in the month of Aadi. She, the archaic Sakthi / Power worshipped simply by the human, and worshipped Vedically by the Gods and Hermits, has sheltered herself in Nellikuppam, as she promised to incarnate as like amla in the southern country, as per the prayers/requests of Kaliyuga gandarvas, yakshar. She, being the archaic Siva Sakthi in the beginning, has become incarnated as a combative Durga as complete Vaishnavi and Mari. She even performs 64 divine plays. She owns sixty-four pedestal of arts. She reveals herself in 64 variety of idols. Those who hear, spread, and think about the history of this Sakthi, who has been yelled by the Vedhas’ as the ruler of Southern Kailash Sri Vanchi Dhaatha Pradhaayini in the period when Agathiyar subjugated the Vindhya Range, will be bestowed with wish fulfilment. In the ancient period, the Serpent virgins in their journey from Himalayas to Sethu, after residing therein Himalyas had crossed the holy place, Sri Sailam, and in the while they all felt weird feeling physically. Their eyes shed tears. They had a different feeling of affection! Love! Refreshment! They all felt enthusiasm and inspiration! When they felt that it is the divine play of Parasakthi, the Narada appeared before them and told them, “The Parasakthi of this holy place bestows the public with easy way for fulfilment, and easily bestows the heart’s desire, and she is the one who slayed the Sumbanisumbar and did Pandasuravadam. She uprooted the Avunar Clan and bestowed the kingship back to the three Kshatriyas such as Surya, Chandra and Agni. She, who is called as Kameshwari and Vanchi Kaatha Pradaayini, likes to be worshipped by you. Spread her majesty to the world of serpent!“ He then took all the Serpent Virgins to the goddess and made prayers. The Serpent Virgins hailed the goddess as follows: The goddess, who sprout out from the syllable of Om, an upright, ringari, the ultimate reality of Veda! You’re the goddess whom hailed by Brahma, Vishnu, Rudra, Maheshwara, and the Sada Sivadhi. Even the guardians of direction also those who performed worship in Sri Sailam in the day of Navarathiri and blessed with your boon. While they’re hailing her, a flower from her crown fell down, and the Serpent Virgins asked about its secret, the Narada told them that their crowned Serpent King comes to worship her, then the secret will be revealed. The Virgins reached their serpent world and informed all the details. Then all the kings such as Adiseshan, Kargodakan, Vasuki, Kuligan, Anandhan came and worshiped her, and in that milieu a divine ray shine to them. While they saw the ray of grace, they also witnessed a flower falling down from her crown and the light of lamp glowing bright. When they witnessed such wonder, they started chanting the name of Rama, the divine Mantra. The thoughts of Thondai Country known as Thandakarunyam; the thoughts of the news, the brave Maruthi, who stepped into Nellivanam and seated on the mount - comprehending their minds, goddess thought about the Nellivanam from Sri Sailam, Thandakarunyam. She then bestowed them the boon that she will come and rule as Rajarajeswari along with you five as pedestal of Serpent and the five powers of the universe as co-workers. Till then I will be seated here in this Nellivanam in the form of serpent in this Mound as like you. She also made them realize that when the kingdom’s status comes to a change due to the crescent worshippers in Kali Yugam, I will make my divine plays, that I executed till then, known to the entire world. When she travelled to the destiny as she promised, she performed many more miracles on the entire ways in the places of Vijayawada, Ongol, Ballari etc. Who is there to narrate all her several names? It is like an ocean to exclaim all her names Ballari Amman, Kanaga Durgai, Chengalamman and her characters. Vendavarasi Amman is worshipped by Hunters, Maravas and Fishers. She performed her divine plays on several places. She incarnated as the daughter of Maharaja Naganambi, who ruled with the capital of Sri Sailam. She has been hailed as Nagaraja Kumari, Nagabharani, Nagabhooshani, Nagapeedasakthi. She settled in Periyapalayam, feasible for the worship of Kings of Palayam with the name Bhavani, carrying udukkai, sword, trishool, golden bowl and riding the lion, and she has been piloted by the five headed snakes. She seated in Tripathi in the form of Mound and as Sree Krishna Serpant with the name Ganga and ruled there. She appeared as Angali in Kalahasti. In the village, Erumaivettipalayam, she became the Angali in the character of Mahishasooramarthini. She appears as Pachaiamman in Thirumullaivoyal, Vadivudaiamman in Thiruvotriyur, Serpant Goddess in Thiruverkadu of Thondai Country in the form of Mound. In Kancheepuram, she appeared seated in Karukku. In Oothukkadu, she appeared as Ellai Amman. In Padavedu she is Padai Veedu Kondaal. In Arani, she is Anivaguthaal. In Manampathi, she is Sozhivilaiyaadinaal. In Gingee, she is Ranganaathanai Kandaal. In Thiruvannamalai, she appears as Pachai Malai Nayaki. Chakkramallur, she appeared in the paddy field as Virgin. In Malayanur, she is Angali; in Pankulathur, she is Pachaiamman; in palatrangarai, she is Manapakkam Kanniammal. Then in the Nellivanam, she began her gracious ruling as in the beginning, with the exhalations of Gandarvas. Several Kings worshiped the Nellivanam established by the King Santhanu in the era of Thulabharam. And it is hailed by the hermits and the siddhas. Till then she was in the form serpent in the mound. And in this place, she sat in the temple as she promised earlier that she would settle in the Nellivanam during the ruling of crescent worshippers

Lord Srinivasa perumal

Sri Srinivasa perumal is in standing posture (Nindra thirukkolam) on the petals of the Lotus. One can see and admire the beauty the Diamond Crown known as Kreetam on the head of the Lord Sri Srinivasa perumal. Thirumanjanam or sacred bath is performed for the main deity of our temple. Each and every material used in the bath is full of special qualities. Towards the end, the deity is bathed in milk, yoghurt, young coconut water, turmeric powder, mixed powder, panchamirtham (Nectar made of five fruits), honey and sandalwood paste before being rinsed with water from the sacred pot. This has a cooling effect on the deity and therefore, this form of prayer is ideal for Kaliyuga. Garuda is usually referred to as Periya Thiruvadi is installed serving the Perumal in all of his avatarams
